BEIJING \u2014 Spring arrived weeks ahead of the calendar this year in the Chinese capital, not by meteorological coincidence but by design, as the 2026 Beijing International Flower Show turned the Lize Financial Business District into an open-air botanical wonderland spanning more than 120,000 square meters.<\/p>\n
Running from April 28 through May 30 in Fengtai District, the exhibition marked the most ambitious iteration of the event to date. Under the theme \u201cFlowers Without Borders,\u201d<\/strong> the show featured over 1,000 flower varieties from more than 30 countries and wove together 60 themed gardens alongside 28 hidden floral installations scattered throughout the neighborhood.<\/p>\n Organizers described this year\u2019s edition as Beijing\u2019s first open-street flower exhibition. Outdoors, 41 gardens blended professional design with public leisure space, including master-designed installations, competition entries, and themed exhibits.<\/p>\n Dutch landscape designer Jutis Vanderplu<\/strong> created a \u201cFuture Garden\u201d centered on alpine rhododendrons, aiming to introduce nature into dense urban environments. The \u201cBlossom Roaming Land\u201d featured sections for gourmet food, creative souvenirs, family activities, interactive experiences, and leisure.<\/p>\n A calligraphy and painting exhibition centered on \u201cromance with plants\u201d used brush, ink, light, and shadow to explore floral themes. Multiple leisure garden spaces gave visitors quiet places to rest.<\/p>\n At Jinzhongdu Ruins Park<\/strong>, the show partnered with Beijing\u2019s forestry authorities to host a \u201cCitizens\u2019 Garden Week,\u201d<\/strong> showcasing garden designs created by residents across the city.<\/p>\n The public response was immediate. In its first week alone, the show drew 338,000 visitors<\/strong>, cementing the district as a new cultural and tourist landmark.
